Read moreHooray for green manure. Nick sewed alfalfa and red clover last autumn and tilled the soil a couple of weeks ago before the snow hit. We are, as you can see, weed free and hopefully, the soil is feeling better for its green fix.

Read moreThe sun came out, and I felt inspired to start tackling the small roof area in London. I cut down the dried flowers from a hydrangea that doesn’t mind pot confinement, and grows to impressive heights every year. The seed heads are now doing their bit making the small shelf look really rather thrilling. I think I will remodel the planting on the small roof this year. I am thinking ‘jungle’.
